BARTEC posters for the marking of the electrical equipment

Bartec Group has recently launched its new posters for the marking of the electrical equipment. These posters explain all the relevant parameters of the international standards (ATEX, IECEx and NEC) allowing to make commonalities and differences between the marking features easily and quickly recognizable. Matching the Ex-relevant information is crucial for the selection of the right Ex equipment suitable for the plant’s needs. The simple structures, clear comparisons and tables thus offer the user a helpful tool in everyday practice.

New epoxy paste

FEAM informs that a new certified epoxy paste will be soon available for barrier cable glands type P… R. The chemical composition of this new compound is the result of numerous tests, it allows to completely seal the cable gland in order to ensure that in case of any explosion inside the equipment, it does not spread to the whole system. Epoxy compounds are thermosetting polymers with cold reaction made by copolymerization of an epoxide (component A) with another compound (component B), which, when mixed, react and solidify bringing the compound to complete hardening.In FEAM paste, component A, which is dark grey, and component B, which is white, must be mixed in a ratio of 1:1 for about 2 minutes until the color is homogeneous. The obtained product has a working time of 20 - 40 minutes, after which it begins the reaction process which will lead to complete hardening after about 24 hours. (Obviously, lower or higher temperature levels can change the hardening times).T

Atex / IECEx addendum for PRC: INERIS 08ATEX0018X / IECEx INE 13.0060X

This addendum includes the standard update and the inclusion of a new version (“L” version). The units type PRC-L2 and PRC-L3 are composed of a threaded cover and body forming a single compartment available in “Ex db” version only. The other versions are: PRC-N, which is provided with a specific nipple M80 and available in “Ex db” version only and the standard PRC available with “Ex db” type of protection as well as “Ex db eb”.

Business closure for summer holidays

We would to inform that our offices as well as our warehouse will remain closed for summer holidays from 12/08/19 to 23/08/19.

Normal activities will resume on 26/08/19.

Development of performing lighting fixtures thanks to the photogoniometer technology

FEAM has recently decided to get a photogoniometer, which allows to the corporate Research & Development department to perform in-house photometric measurements on lighting fixtures which are then uploaded in a specific lighting software in order to simulate the needed lighting in a specific environment. This technology therefore allows the company to provide increasingly efficient solutions able to fully satisfy any customers’ request and system needs. Therefore, the photometric curves performed by the photogoniometer have to be considered a key point for any project that requires the use of lighting fixtures, as they are able to highlight some important data related to the light emitted in various directions such as:

  • Luminous flux [lm]
  • Light intensity [cd]
  • Color temperature [K]

As already stated above, thanks to these important data is possible to determine the lighting needs in a specific environment and then find the right lighting solution.
